GET TO KNOW ME:

For a really long time, my identity was heavily wrapped up in my career and the various roles I filled. I was a photographer and a wife and a mom, but after some time in therapy (10/10 recommend lol) and starting over in a new city, I’ve dug deep into who I am as a person and the things that bring me joy.

SO, BEFORE YOU GET TO KNOW ME AS YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER, I WANT TO TELL YOU ABOUT WHO I AM AS A HUMAN!

I was a barista for 4 years and I wake up every morning excited about drinking a cold brew with vanilla and cream. Thrifting or going to see a movie by myself are my idea of a perfect rest day, but I also love snuggling in bed with my family while we watch Encanto for the 2304980 time because it’s Brooklyn’s favorite right now. I love trashy reality tv and I have fallen back in love with reading over the last two years (find me on GoodReads and let’s be friends, please).

GET TO KNOW US:

Ben is my absolute best friend and the biggest reason I love photographing love- I draw most of my inspiration from my life with him. We spend our evenings going on walks or drinking beer or a million other ordinary things that I couldn’t be more obsessed with, just because we do them together.

He joined my business officially in 2020 and has made every area of my job better.

The best thing that came out of the pandemic was Ben stepping in to help me run Anna Duncan Photography. He’s been second shooting with me since 2018, but now he handles my scheduling, contracts and all the logistics that make this business run. Having him around lets me focus on what I’m good at- shooting, editing and loving on my clients. He is the best human ever and I hope all of you get to meet him one day because I think he’s perfect.

Now, Let’s talk about my job!

I launched my business in 2014.

I had just gotten married, moved across the state and found myself with a lot of free time at my barista job so I launched a website! I offered 30 minute sessions for $30 and felt like I was on top of the world when I booked three of them. I’ve had a camera in my hand since high school, but it wasn’t until I photographed my first couple that I knew I wanted to photograph love stories and I never looked back! I went full time in 2016 and have photographed 100s of weddings since- it truly never ever ever gets old.

I’ve shot in 15 states and two countries.

Traveling with my couples is one of my favorite parts of this job. There is nothing more special than the places that mean the most to you, and it’s a freaking HONOR to document you wherever that is. Last year my husband and I shot in three different states and two countries in a five week period, and it was probably the most fun we’ve ever had! I am always ready to pack a bag and come to your favorite place, or we can explore somewhere new together!

I’ve been published! woo!

I’ve had the privilege of my work being included in some spectacular places, like Junebug Weddings, Green Wedding Shoes, The Knot and some local magazines and websites. I still freak out a little bit when I remember that they chose to share some of my couples with their audience and I feel like it’s a chance for me to brag on my couples because they plan a damn good party.
